Born in Croatia, Prof. Jelen is a native speaker of both Croatian and German, and is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
Prof. Jonatan Jelen
Dr. Jonatan Jelen is a seasoned academic and successful business professional. As Morningside’s Associate Director of Academics, Prof. Jelen serves as our Senior Evaluator and Resident Expert in business- and computer-related fields. Prof. Jelen holds eleven separate advanced degrees from institutions across the United States and Europe in fields ranging from software engineering and business to international relations and law. Prof. Jelen also boasts extensive professional work experience in business and information technology, having served as a manager, advisor, and consultant for major firms like Bloomberg LP, the Bank of New York, Paine Webber (now UBS), and Motorola, among others.
At present, Prof. Jelen serves as an Assistant Professor and Director of the MS Strategic Design & Management program at Parsons The New School for Design. Prior to his time at The New School, Prof. Jelen served for five years as an Assistant Professor of Business and Economics at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Throughout his career, Prof. Jelen has also held instructional and research positions in business- and computer-related fields at institutions like Baruch College, The City College of New York, New York University, and St. John’s University. A member of the National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NAGAP), the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), and NAFSA: Association of International Educators, Prof. Jelen has assisted Morningside in evaluating foreign academic and professional credentials since July 2001.
